Terms of use

The courses are free. You may read the first lesson of any course without an account. Past the first lesson you need to sign in, so that your progress can be saved against your account.

Use the service for your own learning, or to teach the people you are responsible for. Do not use it to break the law, to attack the site or other users, to scrape it at scale, or to resell access to it.

You must be 18 or over to create an account. SkillTycoon is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

You sign in with Google, a phone one-time code, or an email sign-in link. We do not store a password for you.

Your progress — which lessons you have completed, your quiz attempts, where you left off — belongs to you. We use it to show you your own progress and, in aggregate, to work out which courses actually help people. We do not sell it, and we do not hand an individual learner’s record to anyone, including an employer, a college or a partner who invited you.

You can ask us to delete your account and your progress at any time. The privacy notice explains what is stored, where, and how to get it removed.

The courses, lesson content, exercises and design on this site belong to SkillTycoon or to the people we licensed them from. You may use them for your own learning and quote them with attribution. You may not republish a course, sell it, or present it as your own work.

Teaching from them is fine and encouraged. If you are a teacher or organiser and you want to run a course with a group, you do not need a licence from us — point them at the course and get in touch if you want the materials that make it easier.

Anything you write inside an exercise stays yours. Where a course asks you to draft a prompt or an answer, that text is stored with your progress so you can come back to it.

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that any particular course will stay published — AI tooling changes quickly, and a course that has gone out of date may be withdrawn or rewritten.

Finishing a course is not a qualification. There is no certificate and no accreditation behind SkillTycoon, and nothing here should be presented to an employer as one.

Courses about AI tools describe those tools as we found them. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice, and the AI systems they discuss make mistakes — which is, in fact, one of the things the courses teach you to catch.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so on this page rather than quietly reissuing it, and the date below will move.

You can stop using SkillTycoon whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or other users.
